Magnetostrictive oil level probe in the tank is based on the principle of Wiedemann effect and Villari effect with ultrasonic effect of smart material. By measuring the time difference which can be measured easily with high precision, it is converted to the displacement difference. It can accurately measure the product level, water level and temperature in the tank.
Special Float or float for measuring oil level is available in many types according to special purposes, such as Density Float and float to detect the level of ethanol separation in E20 and E85 oil (phase separation).

DELT Detecting Ethanol Separation Layers in Gasoline E20 or E85 When water enters a tank containing a gasoline/ethanol mixture, the ethanol absorbs the water, causing the ethanol to separate from the gasoline and sink to the bottom of the tank where it is mixed with water. This ethanol-water mixture (phase separation) is less dense than pure water, making it undetectable by traditional floats. Special float systems are designed to detect multiple levels of density to detect the phase separations in underground fuel tanks that sink to the bottom of your tank. If not detected, they may be pumped into your customers’ vehicles, causing engine problems and costly repairs for which you may be responsible, as well as the cost of flushing the system, replacing the dispenser filter, and removing contaminated fuel. Blending ethanol increases octane levels, but when ethanol is mixed with water to create phase separation, the remaining gasoline will have a lower octane level, causing problems with selling fuel that does not meet legal requirements.
